1. Kaiserdom Pilsner
Kaiserdom Pilsner is one of the representative German beers, brewed by Kaiserdom Brewery. As a type of lager, it is characterized by its clear golden color, refreshing crispness, and the prominent bitter taste and aroma of Saaz hops. It is distinguished from typical lagers by the balance between the bitterness of hops and the flavor of barley.
The technology, inherited from Germany, led to the popularity of Czech-style lagers, eventually being re-exported to Germany in the 19th century due to their popularity, with Urquell Pilsner marking the beginning of this trend. Thus, the popularity of Pilsner led to its production in Germany and its spread across Europe.
Thus, Kaiserdom also began to produce Pilsners. The Kaiserdom Pilsner features a blue packaging with the brewery’s founding year, 1718, displayed. German beer tradition, it contains only the four ingredients allowed under the Reinheitsgebot: water, yeast, hops, and barley malt.
2. Kaiserdom Story
1) Kaiserdom Brewery
Kaiserdom Brewery is a brewery located in the Bavarian region of Germany, opened 300 years ago in 1718. This is recorded in the protocol book of the Michelsberg monastery.
Over the years, the brewery has been operated through several generations. Thus, in 1972, the beer named Kaiserdom was introduced to the world, achieving great success at church fairs.
By 1978, it began to be exported worldwide, and license production started in China and Sweden. Nowadays, various systems have been developed to enhance environmental protection and future orientation. Currently, a variety of beers are sold, including Kellerbier, Weissbier, Pilsner, Helles, Radler, Helles 0%, and Weissbier 0%.
2) Tasting Notes
The foam seems abundant with decent retention. Upon tasting, the carbonation is moderate. The color is clear and golden, and smelling it, a rich hop aroma emerges.
The taste is pleasantly bitter with strong hops. The harmony between them is quite charming. It feels similar to the previously enjoyed Urquell but slightly smoother.
Still, the refreshing, sharp taste with a bit of bitterness makes Kaiserdom Pilsner a perfect beer for hot summer days, which matches well with its blue packaging.

3. Overall Review
In conclusion, it can be considered a tasty Pilsner beer. When talking about Pilsners, it always comes compared to Urquell, but it doesn’t seem significantly inferior in comparison.
Although the balance between hops and beer’s flavor is slightly different, the essence is not much different. It seems like it doesn’t specifically need pairing, but it would be good to enjoy with crispy fried chicken or fries.
